Training – Facilitating – Presenting
Changes are ahead for the delivery of content at District 5330 learning opportunites such as District Training Assembly, DACdb training, Rotary Leadership Institute, Zoom trainings and many more as a way of making these learning opportunities more interesting, participatory and attractive to members and leaders.
Traditionally information is delivered in one of three methods:
Training is the action of teaching a person a specific skill or type of behavior.
Facilitation is a technique used by trainers to help learners acquire, retain, and apply knowledge and skills. The facilitator introduces participants to the content, and they ask questions. The trainer leads the discussion, enhances the learning experience, and provides suggestions.
Presentation is an activity in which someone shows, describes, or explains something to a group of people.
It’s been shown that adults benefit more from facilitated learning sessions than the other two methods. As a result, the District Education Team is will offer learning sessions for everyone who leads District learning sessions. Beginning this fall, everyone who wishes to enhance their skills will be invited to attend “Facilitated Learning” sessions to explore this highly successful method of adult learning.
