COMMUNITY SERVICE
Do you want to get involved in a District-Wide Community Service Project at Lake Skinner’s 2024 Ignite Festival on June 15, 2024?
This year, at our iGNITE Festival, we will have four different service project opportunities throughout the day. For those who have been to either RYLA or PRYDE camp, the service projects will be similar in scope to those we do at camp.
Examples would be similar to Bags to Belongings, where we pack care packages for youth in foster care, or Plan-It Life, Inc. a residential treatment center for at-risk youth, ages 12-18 serving Jurupa, Murrieta, Temecula, and Banning.
We are offering our Rotary Clubs the opportunity to sponsor a service project to benefit a nonprofit organization within their sphere of influence.
For a $500 sponsorship, your Club’s non-profit of choice would be invited to our district conference, given an opportunity to speak about their organization’s mission and receive 100 care packages assembled the day of the event. The care packages would include items specific to the non-profit’s mission.
Multiple clubs within the same area can share the sponsorship for one recipient organization.
This year, our District Governor, Jamie Zinn, is focused on raising awareness by educating parents, educators, and students on the YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH crisis. Clubs wanting to support organizations focused on youth mental health may do so through their iGNITE Festival service project, but assisting the mission of all non-profits will be considered.
